Britain's smallest venue

Folk in a Box goes to Bangor and PONTIO

Folk in a Box is today helping with the wonderful new Pontio project at Bangor University in North Wales. Pontio is all about connections and combining arts and sciences, and connecting the University and the community. It will include a great new performing arts venue. As they launch their plans, we are performing today with Folk in a Box at the Pontio Visitor’s Centre in Bangor city centre. So are NoFit State Circus.

‘We’, today, includes Dom Coyote, otherwise known as Dominic Lawton, also of Kneehigh Theatre. And  the excellent  (says Dom’s father who is interim Consultant Director at Pontio – but it wasn’t him who suggested us!) Emily Barker, award-winning singer of the theme music for BBC TV series Wallander which made it to North Wales despite the mountains. Intriguingly for all us story-tellers, the theme for the landscaped park for the unique new Innovation and Arts Centre is the collection of Welsh medieval stories The Mabinogion. We are off in the rain now…more anon.
